In Orsk, the city In the Orenburg region, where a dam broke due to flooding, there were no casualties. The regional government reported this.
Several villages, including the old city, were flooded, and local authorities began a mass evacuation of people. However, according to information from the regional government, there is no information yet about casualties or those who sought medical help.
Six temporary points were prepared to provide temporary accommodation for evacuated residents. Some people have already been taken to these points following the evacuation, including 40 children, while others are staying with their relatives. It is important to note that their life and health are not in danger, and they do not require medical assistance.
Governor Denis Pasler held an operational meeting at which they decided to turn off electricity in flooded areas if the water level rises to a critical level. Work to restore damaged sections of the dam is being carried out promptly, with the involvement of the necessary material, crews and special equipment.
“All the necessary forces are concentrated in Orsk today to provide assistance to people and cope with the consequences of the flood,” wrote in the Governor's Telegram.
This is the first time that the dam has encountered such a high level of load.
