The Central District Military Court sentenced loader from Magnitogorsk Gaziz Davletbaev to two years in prison. This was reported by Memorial with reference to the convict's support group.
Davletbaev was found guilty of justifying terrorism (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). During the debate, the prosecution asked that he be sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
The reason for the criminal prosecution was a comment from a resident of Magnitogorsk under a post about the verdict of Alexei Nuriev and Roman Nasryev, convicted in the case of arson of the administration of the city of Bakal in Chelyabinsk areas.
Using Molotov cocktails, they tried to set fire to the military registration desk in the administration building. Both were found guilty of a terrorist attack and undergoing terrorism training (clause “a” of Part 2 of Article 205, Article 205.3 of the Criminal Code) and were sentenced to 19 years in prison each.
In his publication, Davletbaev spoke positively about their action. “Men with a capital M. Russia will be free. In the new Russia they will be real heroes,” he wrote. The criminal case against the loader became known in December; after his arrest, the man was placed in a pre-trial detention center.
