In addition, 47 bridge structures closed to traffic in 31 municipalities. At the same time, federal roads operate without restrictions, the department specified.
It is noted that the most difficult situation is developing in Orsk, where 6,641 residential buildings with private plots were flooded. In total, more than two thousand people were evacuated from the city, including 689 children.
Flood in the Orenburg region
On Friday in Orsk, a dam on the Ural River broke, part of the city was in the flood zone. The mayor's office reported four deaths, their deaths are not related to the flood situation.
As indicated by the prosecutor's office, the emergency occurred due to untimely measures taken to maintain the hydraulic structure. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the articles “Violation of safety rules during construction work” and “Negligence”.
The situation is getting worse in Orenburg. There, the Urals gained 28 centimeters in a day; authorities have already evacuated at least 428 people. The mayor of the city, Sergei Salmin, demanded that residents of the flooded areas leave voluntarily, otherwise they will be taken out with the participation of the police.
In total, the flood affected 27 municipalities, more than six thousand residents of the region were evacuated, about a thousand people were placed in temporary temporary accommodation.
The government of the Orenburg region stated that the peak of the flood is expected on April 10, and the situation will stabilize after the 20th.
On Sunday morning, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov, arrived in the region. According to him, the most difficult situation is developing in Orsk — in the Leninsky district and the Old Town. He reported this to President Vladimir Putin.
The head of state also called for timely forecasting of developments and taking measures due to possible flooding in the Kurgan and Tyumen regions. In addition, he instructed the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, to monitor compliance with law and order in the flood zone.
