Protocols were drawn up against the head of the licensing department of Kinopoisk regarding “LGBT propaganda” and “demonstration” of LGBT relationships without labeling

The court district of the magistrate No. 374 of the Tagansky district of Moscow registered the materials of two administrative cases against the head of the licensing department of Kinopoisk Nikolai Buts, information about this was found by Mediazona in the database of the capital's courts.

Protocols were drawn up against Butz for “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relationships and gender reassignment” on the Internet and “demonstration” of LGBT relationships with incorrect age markings (Part 3 of Article 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and Part 2 of Article 6.21.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

It is unknown what Butz’s administrative cases are related to, but the online cinema itself was previously fined under the article on “demonstration” of LGBT relationships without the “18+” label for at least 3 million rubles. Protocols for Kinopoisk, among other things, were drawn up for showing the films “Love, Love, Love”, “Perfect Strangers”, “Bridget Jones. The Edge of Reason”, “The English Barber”, “Three More Weddings”, “Greed”, “Hotel Number 6” and “Bullet”.

The same court district No. 374 received materials from an administrative case regarding the “demonstration” of LGBT relationships without labeling against film producer Makar Kozhukhov, deputy general director of the online cinema Premier (previously, the service itself was fined under a similar article for 4 million rubles).

Courts have already fined employees of online cinemas for showing films and TV series without the “18+” label: for example, 200 thousand rubles were awarded to Yandex CEO Artem Savinovsky. In St. Petersburg, the editor-in-chief of Tricolor Cinema and TV, Anatoly Slepenkov, was fined the same amount.

The resolutions stated that they “allowed the distribution among minors” of content with LGBT scenes.

Previously, Kinopoisk put the “18+” label on the cartoon “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic,” one of the main characters in which is the pony Rainbow Dash with a rainbow mane and tail. The service’s press service explained this by “new legislative restrictions.”

On March 3, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow received materials from another administrative case against Kinopoisk about “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relationships,” and the day before that about incorrect labeling of films with LGBT scenes.
