A resident of Dzerzhinsk was detained in a case of high treason, the FSB department for the Nizhny Novgorod region reported. The intelligence service sent press releases to TASS and Open Nizhny.
The detainee “for ideological reasons” collaborated “with organizations acting against the security of the Russian Federation with the support of special services of a foreign state,” the FSB claims.
The young man, according to investigators, transmitted “information revealing methods and routes for transporting weapons and military equipment to the zone of a special military operation” (Article 275 of the Criminal Code).
The news was accompanied by footage of a search in the apartment of a Dzerzhin resident. At first, the security forces studied on camera a telegram account opened on a laptop. Then they dumped an American flag, a military ID and the boy's 9th grade certificate into the center of the room. Nearby they placed a notebook for writing down foreign words with a British flag on the cover and a piece of paper on which the inscription U.S.A. was hand-painted. and the beginning of the American anthem was rewritten.
In March, the FSB announced the detention of another resident of Dzerzhinsk, a large industrial city near Nizhny Novgorod. He was accused of posting leaflets with a call to fight on the side of Ukraine.
