MOSCOW, April 8 Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on the investigation of the criminal case initiated due to the collapse of a bridge in Vyazma, Smolensk region, the department reported.
Earlier, the Investigative Committee reported that on Monday at about 17.00, an overpass connecting two microdistricts in Vyazma collapsed, several cars fell down. The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that one person died and five were hospitalized. The prosecutor's office of the Smolensk region reported that a criminal case of negligence had been opened.

«Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Bastrykin A.I. instructed the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Smolensk region Ukhanov A.Yu. to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case,» the message says in Telegram channel of the RF IC.
According to the regional Ministry of Health, five victims of the overpass collapse are in serious or moderate condition, they have multiple injuries.
