The new product is an electric car. The model will be available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and will hit the home market before the end of this year.
The iCar V23 electric cross, announced at the end of March, was shown to Chinese journalists in the form of a prototype close to production: “live” photos, in particular, were published by Autohome. This is not yet a full-fledged presentation — it is expected to take place on April 12, and the new product will make its public premiere at the Beijing Motor Show, which opens on the 25th of this month. V23 will be the second model of the iCar brand, created by Chery specifically for electrified cars: this SUV will join the electric SUV with the index 03.

By the way, many local, and then foreign media, hastened to report that V23 was developed together with Smartmi Technology (aka Zhimi Technology), a subsidiary of Xiaomi. However, both the iCar brand and the IT giant denied this. The fact is that one of the initiators of the appearance of this crossover was the founder and head of Smartmi, he formed the development team, but Xiaomi did not directly participate in the creation of the model — it is focused on its own SU7 electric car and the future SUV.

Be that as it may, the exterior of the iCar V23 is made in the now fashionable brutal style. The model has impressive bumpers and wide fenders, round headlights and compact taillights. The length of the new product is 4220 mm, width – 1915 mm, height – 1845 mm, wheelbase – 2730 mm. Thus, only in terms of the first indicator is the V23 inferior to the already selling iCar 03. Dimensions of the latter: 4406/1910/1715 mm, the distance between the axles is 2715 mm. The passport ground clearance of the new SUV is 206 or 212 mm (depending on the version). Models are equipped with 19- or 21-inch wheels.
The interior is minimalist. There is a giant separate display in the center, below it are pucks and a row of physical buttons. The side air deflectors were made vertical. The new product is also promised a lot of electronic assistants.
It is known that the iCar V23 will be available with rear or all-wheel drive, that is, with one or two electric motors. But there is no data on technology yet. It is only stated that the rear-wheel drive V23 will travel approximately 400 km, and the all-wheel drive – 500 km. The base iCar 03 has one 184-horsepower electric motor on the rear axle; the electric motors of all-wheel drive versions together produce 279 hp. Depending on the version, this model is available with batteries with a capacity of 50.63 kWh, 65.69 kWh or 69.77 kWh. Power reserve — from 401 to 501 km on the CLTC cycle.
In the homeland of iCar V23 sales will start before the end of the year. Meanwhile, outside of China, this SUV may appear under another Chery sub-brand. For example, the same iCar 03 in some markets will be sold as Jaecoo 6.
