Police officers reported the arrest of a suspect in the arson of a spontaneous memorial in New Moscow to victims of the terrorist attacks in Crocus City Hall.
Residents of New Moscow, the Desenovskoye settlement, the day after the terrorist attack began bringing flowers and toys to the mortgage stone, where they were going to erect a monument to participants in local conflicts. The spontaneous memorial was set on fire on the night of April 5.
The detained man is 49 years old. He is suspected of damaging a military memorial site (Part 1 of Article 243.4 of the Criminal Code). The article implies up to three years of imprisonment. The Shot telegram channel introduces him as Valery Dvornikov.
In the footage distributed by the police, the man says after the arrest: “It just seemed to me that this was unnecessary. That people piled a bunch of toys there. I thought it was beautiful that it was all on fire. You know, like the Eternal Flame.”
