On November 7, the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan confirmed Chanysheva’s sentence — while the appellate court added aggravating circumstances to the activist’s case: the oppositionist’s actions were interpreted as committed by an organized group motivated by political hatred.
Later, the cassation court overturned this decision and returned the case for reconsideration to the appellate instance. At the meeting, the prosecutor's office demanded that Chanysheva's sentence be increased to ten years in prison, since the activist had previously “provoked and incited Ufa residents” to protest on the streets.
Together with Chanysheva, former volunteer of the Ufa headquarters Rustem was tried in the case of an “extremist community.” Mulyukov, disabled person of group 1.
