Avito analyzed sales of summer tires with the onset of the “re-shoe” season. Sales of new tires on the platform increased by 21% over the year, and 5 times over the last month. Sales of used tires decreased by 10% year-on-year after several years of active growth, but over the month they increased 5.4 times. When buying new kits, Russians mainly choose South Korean and Chinese brands, and in the used segment they prefer European ones.

Among the new sets of tyres, the top sellers are: South Korean and Chinese brands. Thus, sales of the South Korean brand Hankook grew most noticeably year-on-year.(132%), the average cost of a set is 52,600 rubles. In second place is another South Korean brand Kumho, the increase in the number of purchases was 76%. On average, such a kit cost 40,500 rubles. The top 3 in terms of growth is closed by the Chinese manufacturer Sailun (58%), the average cost of a set is 25,500 rubles. In terms of the share of sales among new brands, the leaders are Triangle (9%), Pirelli (8%) and Kumho (5.5%). p>

Distributors reconfigured sales channels last year, in particular, they began transporting products through parallel imports. At the same time, large Russian production facilities were able to restart and continue working. Now we are still observing a trend towards a redistribution of demand in the market — Russian car owners continue to discover new brands of tires that offer budget and at the same time high-quality options. The Chinese brand Triangle and the South Korean Kumho have remained leaders in sales growth since last year, and among the classic brands, the Italian Pirelli dominates. We are seeing a redistribution of sales from used to new — Asian manufacturers were able to offer options at affordable prices, so when buying summer tires, motorists increasingly prefer to buy not second-hand European tires, but new Chinese or South Korean ones at the same price. But among the top sellers of used tires, it is proven European brands; fans of well-known brands choose what they have become accustomed to over many years of owning a car. If we talk about used kits, then Pirelli has also become the most popular brand among Russian motorists , on average, an Italian kit costs 16,700 rubles on the secondary market. Other brands in the top 3 are Michelin and Continental. The average cost of used sets of these brands on the site was 17,700 and 16,950, respectively. It is interesting that Continental was displaced from third position by Bridgestone over the year.

Average price of new summer tires on Avito in March 2024 amounted to 37,000 rubles and increased by 11% over the year. Used tires can be purchased at a price of 13,200 rubles, the price dynamics was 13%. At the same time, over the month — relative to February 2024 — the cost of tires on Avito decreased by an average of 10%. Platform analysts attribute this dynamics to an increase in assortment: sellers place more offers at the peak of the “re-shoe” season, which affects the overall average check on Avito.
