MOSCOW, April 10There is not enough original content on regional television, only 15-20 regional television companies can close five hours of broadcasting daily, the rest — from two to four hours, reported Director of the Special Projects Directorate of OTR Sergei Lomakin at the XV All-Russian Business Media Forum at the Moscow International Medical Center «Rossiya Segodnya».

< br />«Approximately 15-20 television companies, 15-20 regions, can close five hours of broadcasting daily for their products. All other companies, out of a small 84-86 of them, which broadcast under our contract, close from two to four hours of broadcasting «This means that there is not enough product,» said Sergei Lomakin, director of the OTR special projects directorate.
In his opinion, the problem of a shortage of media products exists due to insufficient funding, and not because journalists do not want to work.
Lomakin said that the budget of television companies is built in two directions: an agreement with local authorities on coverage of activities and a budget earned from advertising.
«If the first part is even more or less stable. More or less, because these amounts are revised in different regions. Then the second part is practically a failure,» he believes.
In a conversation with Lomakin, he clarified that we are talking about original content created by regional TV channels. So, even taking into account the 24-hour format of the TV channel, the broadcasting time cannot reach five hours.
