MOSCOW, April 10 A Mi-24 helicopter crashed in the Crimea region, the Ministry of Defense reported.

"While performing a scheduled flight over the Black Sea in the area of the western coast of the Republic of Crimea, a Mi-24 helicopter crashed. The preliminary cause of the crash is a failure of aircraft,” the report says.
The accident occurred at about six in the morning Moscow time.
Search and rescue service is working at the scene.
Mi-24 is a specialized transport and combat helicopter capable of performing the functions of an aerial infantry fighting vehicle. It is designed both to transport a rifle squad and to provide direct fire support for ground troops and combat enemy armored vehicles.
