The Tagansky District Court of Moscow registered materials of administrative cases against journalists Veronica Kutsillo, Konstantin Eggert, Ilya Shepelin, as well as publicist Andrei Piontkovsky, literary critic Tatyana Sotnikova and former lawyer Mark Feigin. Mediazona found information about this on the website of the capital’s courts.
All of them are charged with distributing posts without the label “foreign agent” (Part 4 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code). In addition, the Savelovsky District Court of the capital registered a similar protocol against rapper Alisher Morgenstern. Their hearings have not yet been scheduled. What became the reason for drawing up protocols in each case is unknown.
For Kutsylo, Eggert, Sotnikova, Piontkovsky and Shepelin, these are the first protocols after they were declared “foreign agents.” The Ministry of Justice added Kutsillo to its register in October 2022, the rest — in the summer and autumn of 2023.
Mark Feigin was declared a “foreign agent” in April 2022. The first protocol under the article on failure to fulfill the duties of a “foreign agent” (Part 1 of Article 19.34.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for 13 posts in the telegram channel against him was drawn up two months later. Then the court fined the ex-lawyer 10 thousand rubles.
Alisher Morgenstern was added to the register of “foreign agents” in May 2022. In 2023, he was fined for failing to submit a “foreign agent” report, and in 2024 — for lack of marking.
