MOSCOW, April 10 Moscow demands an objective investigation attack on the Russian Embassy in Vilnius and punishment of those responsible for this incident, which was the result of the Russophobic policy of the Lithuanian authorities, stated the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Earlier, the Lithuanian police department reported that unknown persons threw Molotov cocktails on the night of Sunday and Monday mixture into the Russian Embassy building in Vilnius, the wall of the building was damaged. The suspect was later detained, the LRT (Lithuanian Radio and Television) portal reported.
“We consider what happened to be the result of the deliberate policy of Russophobia of official Vilnius and the unprecedented intensity of anti-Russian rhetoric,” Zakharova said at a media briefing.
She added that the Russian side demands that Lithuanian law enforcement officers objectively investigate the crime and properly ensure the security of the embassy. “Everyone involved in this attack must be found and punished, and the damage to the building of the Russian diplomatic mission must be compensated,” Zakharova emphasized.
