
MOSCOW, April 9 The water level in the Ural River in Orenburg exceeded the critical mark by a centimeter, the press service of the city mayor's office reported.

Later, the mayor’s office clarified that the areas of Forshtadt, the villages of Kuznechny, Sitsovka, Pristantsionny, Zarechny, Podmayachny, Solnechny, Ovchinny town and the village named after Kuibyshev, as well as the Grand Park residential complex, are now in the flooding zone. In addition, water penetrated into several gardening non-profit partnerships in the area of the village named after Kuibyshev, Protopopovskaya Grove, Zauralnaya Grove and Ovchinny Gorodok. SNT «Dubki» and «Dubovy Plyos» were also flooded.
In turn, the governor of the Orenburg region Denis Pasler called on city residents to promptly evacuate from the flooded areas.
Earlier on Tuesday, the mayor of the city, Sergei Salmin, reported that if the critical water level of 930 centimeters is exceeded, new territories will be flooded. He called on residents of the Grand Park residential complex, the villages of Solnechny and Kuibyshev, residents of SNT behind the Zarechny microdistrict in the southern part of the city not to waste time and take out children, elderly people and disabled people, as well as animals, before the water arrives. It is necessary to collect documents and valuables.

Unprecedented flood
The regions of the Southern Urals faced record floods this year. The most difficult situation is in the Orenburg region. On Friday, April 5, the dam that protected Orsk from the Ural River broke. The authorities carried out a mass evacuation of residents from the Old City. 6,995 residential buildings with garden plots were flooded. 2,493 people, including 797 children, were evacuated from flooded houses.
A state of emergency on a federal scale was introduced in the region. The regional government estimates the estimated damage from the flood at 21 billion rubles.
A state of emergency is also in effect in the Kurgan and Tyumen regions. The water level in the Tobol River, according to Roshydromet forecasts, will exceed 11 meters. In some municipalities, preventive evacuation of the population has begun.
The authorities of neighboring Kazakhstan say that the current floods are the largest in the last 80-plus years, and a state of emergency has been declared in some regions of the country.
