YEKATERINBURG, April 11 Almost 180 houses and 284 household plots remain flooded as a result of floods in the Kurgan region, reports the regional headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“As of April 11, 178 residential buildings, 284 household plots, one low-water bridge and eight sections of roads remain flooded in four municipal districts (Tselinny, Zverinogolovsky, Kargapol and Mishkinsky) in 11 settlements,” the report says.
A regional emergency regime has been introduced in the Kurgan region. According to the forecast of the State Emergency Service of the Russian Federation for the flood-hazardous period, 62 settlements, 4,300 houses, 5,550 household plots, 600 summer cottages may be flooded in the region, and 18,718 people may fall into the emergency zone.
According to the head of the region, the arrival of high water in Kurgan is predicted for April 11-14. On Thursday morning, the water level in the Tobol River in the regional capital reached 383 centimeters, having increased eight centimeters overnight. The water level in the village of Zverinogolovskoye, where the flood situation is the most serious, is 1008 centimeters on Thursday morning, with the critical level occurring at 1060 centimeters.
