If not take into account fruits and vegetables, food products became more expensive in March by 0.51%; fruit and vegetable products themselves fell in price by 2.09%. Non-food products rose in price by 0.27% during March.
The statistical agency recorded an increase in the price of certain types of fruits and vegetables in March: for example, beets increased in price by 7.6%, carrots — 4.4%, tomatoes — 4.3%, white cabbage — 3.9%, grapes — 2.6 %, fresh herbs — 2.5%. Meanwhile, cucumbers fell in price by 21.7%, lemons — by 4.4%, oranges and bananas — by 3.4% and 0.8%, respectively, potatoes and pears — by 0.3%.
The price of lamb increased by 3.2%, olive oil by 2.8%, fruit juices by 1.8%; Curd cheeses coated with chocolate and yoghurts increased in price by 1.7%. Peas and beans added 1.5% in price; beef, salted herring, semolina and cognac — 1.4%; salted, marinated and smoked fish — 1.2%; salted herring fillet, oatmeal and pearl barley, chocolate, carbonated drinks — 1.1%; margarine, cakes and chocolates — 1%.
