NIZHNY NOVGOROD, April 9 The powers of the head of Cheboksary Denis Spirin have been terminated ahead of schedule, according to the website of the city meeting of deputies.
«Dear citizens, I have decided to resign as the head of the city. This is not an easy decision for me, but it is balanced and well thought out. In the near future I intend to rest a little, then I will continue to work for the good of our country,» Spirin wrote in his Telegram -channel. He thanked the Cheboksary administration team and city residents for their trust, saying that “he will remember with warmth his years as the head of the city.”
Deputies of the Cheboksary City Assembly at an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday accepted the resignation of the city head. “The people’s representatives approved the application of the head of the city of Cheboksary, Denis Vadimovich Spirin, for early termination of office due to resignation of his own free will,” the statement says.
Vladimir Dobrokhotov, deputy head of the city administration for architecture and urban planning, has been appointed temporary acting head of Cheboksary.
Spirin was elected head of the capital of Chuvashia after the transition to a “single-headed” management system on December 26, 2023. Prior to this, since December 2021, he served as head of the Cheboksary administration.
