«The water level in the Tobol River near the city of Kurgan on April 13… is 416 centimeters (above the “gauge zero”). The change over 12 hours is +7 centimeters,” the message says.
According to the authorities, dangerous phenomena in Kurgan occur at around 850 centimeters.
A regional emergency regime has been introduced in the Kurgan region. According to the forecast of the Main Emergency Situations Directorate of the Russian Federation for the flood-hazardous period, 62 settlements, 4.3 thousand houses, 5,550 household plots, 600 summer cottages may be flooded in the region, and 18,718 people may fall into the emergency zone.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, In the region, 205 residential buildings and 320 household plots, one low-water bridge and seven sections of highways have already been flooded, the Ministry of Emergency Situations specified. More than 7.1 thousand people were preventively evacuated due to the flood, 885 people are in temporary accommodation centers.
The peak of the flood in Kurgan is predicted for April 14-15. The water level in the village of Zverinogolovskoye, where the situation is most serious, was about 1008 centimeters — on Friday the water in the village began to decrease “a centimeter or two, going to Kurgan,” the head of the region noted.
