Roskomnadzor blocked the website of the information and political publication Polit.Ru in Russia. The Roskomsvoboda project, which monitors blockings, drew attention to this.
According to Roskomsvoboda, access was limited by a “mask,” that is, by blocking access to all domains and subdomains of Polit.Ru. Interfax, citing the supervisory agency, reports that the reason for the blocking is “repeated placement of unreliable socially significant information.”
Polit.Ru, one of the first online publications in Russia, appeared in February 1998. At various times, Kirill Rogov, Mikhail Fishman, Masha Gessen, Vitaly Leibin, Boris Grozovsky, Philip and Tikhon Dzyadko, Maya Kucherskaya and other journalists worked there.
Roskomsvoboda also reports that the website of the foundation of Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik was blocked in Russia. According to the authors of the project, this happened due to the fact that the organization collects donations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the defense of Ukraine.
