WASHINGTON, April 13 The US decision to ban the import of aluminum, copper and nickel of Russian origin will also limit their turnover on world exchanges, the US Treasury said .
On Friday, the department announced a ban on the import of aluminum, copper and nickel of Russian origin into the United States. The restrictions do not affect these metals that were produced before April 13 of the current year.

“The new action prohibits the import of Russian-origin aluminum, copper and nickel into the United States and also limits the use of aluminum, copper and nickel on global metals exchanges and in over-the-counter derivatives trading,” the statement said.
The United States adopted these restrictions in coordination with the UK, which was confirmed by the British government.
Moscow has repeatedly stated that the country will cope with the sanctions pressure that the West began to exert on Russia several years ago and continues to strengthen. The Kremlin noted that the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of sanctions. In Western countries themselves, opinions have been repeatedly voiced that anti-Russian sanctions are ineffective.
