MOSCOW, April 15 In Russia, there is a consistent abandonment of the iPhone — the devices are too expensive and are considered a security risk, and Apple has officially left the country, At the same time, the share of the company’s devices in the domestic market is likely to decrease to 4% by the end of the year, Eldar Murtazin, a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group, shared his opinion.
According to research company IDC Tracker, South Korean Samsung became the leader in smartphone shipments in the world in the last quarter, overtaking the American Apple. Thus, in the first quarter, Samsung shipped 60 million smartphones, which amounted to 20.8% of all global shipments. And Apple shipped 50 million smartphones, representing 17.3% of global shipments. 
According to Murtazin, Apple “has always been number two,” which only managed to make a short leap forward. “The reduction in production will occur because the demand for Apple products is falling, iPhones are too expensive. … In Russia, the market share is about 6% now in units, and it continues to decline, will most likely drop to 4% (by the end of this year — ed.),” the expert explained.
He also noted that neither the new presentation nor new iPhone colors will help due to the price of the product. «In Russia there is a consistent rejection of iPhones, as they are considered a security threat. … Moreover, the company has left the Russian market, so they are not officially present here. Therefore, the share in our country will not grow. In other countries it is unlikely that it will grow. Where they have good sales, they have already reached the maximum share — they will not be able to sell any more,” concluded Murtazin.
At the end of March, information appeared in the media that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max could receive two new colors: Space Black and Rose.
