MOSCOW, April 14 There is no universal and 100% effective way to buy the cheapest air ticket, but there are several ways that significantly increase this probability, the product director told Prime agency in an interview Yandex Travel Evgeniy Abramzon.
He recalled that airlines use dynamic pricing, changing ticket prices depending on current demand. Therefore, it is important to choose the right time to buy. Six months before departure is too early: such a period is justified only in the case of subsidized flight programs, for example, to the Far East. But in a couple of months there is a chance to get a lucrative offer.
The closer to departure, the smaller the window of choice — the best tickets are already sold out. However, it happens that at the last moment the airline puts on a flight another plane with a larger number of seats. Then cheap fares go on sale again.
It makes sense to choose the day of the week and even the hour of departure. The most popular ones are Friday evening and Saturday morning: this way you can add a weekend to your trip. Midweek flights are usually cheaper. Morning and evening flights sell out the fastest — people don’t want to break up the day. But offers with departures at lunchtime differ worse, Abramzon concluded.
