MOSCOW, April 16 The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested in absentia journalist Mikhail Zygar*, recognized as a foreign agent, for publicly distributing fakes about the Russian army, the court reported.
“The court granted the investigator’s request against Mikhail Zygar, accused under paragraph e of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and chose a preventive measure in the form of detention in absentia for a period of 2 months,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
She added that the period is calculated from the moment of extradition to the territory of Russia or his detention.
Previously, Zygar* was put on the wanted list by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
