MOSCOW, April 15 Elon Musk confirmed information that his social network X plans to charge all new users for access to creating posts, bookmarks, as well as likes and replies to other posts.
«Unfortunately, a small fee for new users to gain access to records is the only way to stop the relentless onslaught of bots. Today's AI (and troll farms) can easily pass the bot test,» Musk wrote in response to an X post in which talks about fees for new subscribers. 
Then, in one of the posts, Musk clarified that the function would only apply to new users and “in three months they will be able to write for free.”
The original X Daily News account post, which was responded to by the social network's owner, states that new users are required to pay an annual fee for access to liking, replying to other users, bookmarking and creating posts. This, as noted in the text, is introduced to reduce the level of spam.
Musk did not specify what the amount for new users would be. However, since last October, such a fee has already been introduced for users in New Zealand and the Philippines. It amounted to 1.43 New Zealand dollars and 42.51 Philippine pesos per year respectively, which at that time corresponded to one American dollar.
X Corp. is an American company founded by Elon Musk in 2023 to take over Twitter Inc. and the company's main product, the social network Twitter, which occurred in April. In July, a rebranding was carried out — the logo and name of the social network Twitter were changed to X.
