The Dzerzhinsky City Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region registered the materials of the administrative case against the blogger who left Russia, the author of the Marxist YouTube channel “Bulletin of the Storm” Andrei Rudoy. Mediazona drew attention to the case file.
Rudy is accused of “discrediting” the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code). A hearing in his case is scheduled for May 22. What became the reason for bringing him to administrative responsibility is unknown.
Rudoy himself moved to France in 2022, fearing political persecution. Shortly before this, security forces, under the pretext of “inspecting the premises,” tried to conduct a search at the blogger’s home. Then he did not open the door, called a lawyer and refused the “inspection.”
In November, when Rudoy was already in France, they nevertheless came to his wife in Dzerzhinsk with a search — investigative actions were carried out in a criminal case about “discrediting” the army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) against photographer and teacher from the Nizhny Novgorod region Ilya Myaskovsky. Later, in this case, Myaskovsky was sentenced to a fine of 250 thousand rubles.
In October 2023, the Ministry of Justice added Rudogo to the register of “foreign agents.” The reason for this, as the department reported then, was that the blogger, living abroad, opposed the war in Ukraine, distributed materials from other “foreign agents” and “inaccurate information about the decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and the policies pursued by them.”< /p>
The YouTube channel “Herald of the Storm,” which has existed since 2016, now has 319 thousand subscribers. Rudoy himself was an activist of the Left Front and participated in the protests of 2011–2012; his home was also searched as part of the Bolotnaya case.
