The GranCabrio Folgore convertible completes Maserati's modern line-up of sports models and will go on sale in key markets later this year.
The petrol Maserati GranCabrio Trofeo with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 Nettuno engine (550 hp, 650 Nm) debuted in February, and the related Maserati GranTurismo coupe entered the market in all possible modifications last year. The Maserati company, part of the Stellantis corporation, saved the electric convertible for dessert: it is not only very beautiful, but also has no direct competitors in the market — no other company today offers mass-produced pleasure electric convertibles designed for four riders, but there are piece open conversions from tuners based on Tesla Model S and other electric cars.

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore has a reinforced body in the area of the bottom and sills and weighs 2340 kg in running order — 80 kg more than the GranTurismo Folgore coupe. The fabric roof, equipped with an electric drive, can be folded at speeds of up to 50 km/h in just 14 seconds; raising the roof takes a little longer — 16 seconds. The trunk volume with the top up is a modest 151 liters, with the top folded down — 114 liters, but, of course, you can use the second row of seats for bags, and you can also stretch a wind deflector over them to reduce air turbulence in the cabin when driving at high speeds. The front seats are equipped with a system for supplying warm air to the neck area.

The interior is designed in the same way as the petrol convertible and related coupe: the instrument screen is 12.2 inches, the multimedia screen is 12.3 inches. Under the multimedia screen there is a transmission control key block and another 8.8-inch touch screen, which is responsible for microclimate settings. The video option includes an electronic clock above the multimedia screen and a projection screen on the windshield. The paddle shifters control the quick start mode (Launch Control). The standard Sonus faber audio system with a power of 815 W has 13 speakers, for an additional fee an even more powerful 1060-watt audio system from the same Italian company with 16 speakers is offered.

The power plant of the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore consists of three electric motors with a power of 300 kW (408 hp) each, one electric motor is installed on the front axle, two on the rear. Due to limited battery power, the maximum total power of the power plant is not 1224, but 761 hp; in MaxBoost mode, the power briefly increases to 610 kW (829 hp). The maximum torque of the power plant is 1350 Nm, the maximum regenerative power is 400 kW (544 hp). The electric convertible accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, to 200 km/h in 9.1 seconds, and top speed is 290 km/h.

When driving, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore plays a synthetic soundtrack specially written for this model, which reproduces the roar of the classic Maserati V8 naturally aspirated petrol engine.

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore's adaptive suspension has a comfortable default setting, ideal for open-top excursions, but in the most performance Corsa mode it clamps down and allows you to take corners as quickly as possible. Standard brakes are supplied by Brembo, the diameter of the front ventilated discs is 380 mm (6-piston fixed calipers), the rear ones are 350 mm (4-piston fixed calipers). The standard tire size is 265/35 ZR 20 at the front and 295/30 ZR 21 at the rear.
