Rzeczpospolita: in Poland they are going to punish with prison for insulting the church and the feelings of believers
The newspaper Rzeczpospolita reports that Polish parliamentarians have accepted for consideration a civil draft law, which provides for tougher punishment for insulting the church and the feelings of believers .
According to the publication, the draft amendment to the Criminal Code provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to two years for mocking or insulting the church, its dogmas and rituals. It is expected that the Polish Sejm will consider the bill next week.
Rzeczpospolita indicated that if the amendments are approved by legislators, Polish citizens will face up to two years in prison for publicly insulting a church or any other religious organization, as well as mocking their doctrines and rituals. In addition, public insult to objects of religious worship or places of religious ceremonies will be punished in the same way.
