
MOSCOW, April 17 Russian tourists stuck at Dubai airports and Sharjah due to bad weather, complain about the lack of water and food, said the vice-president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Artur Muradyan.
«Tour operators receive requests from tourists with messages that they are not provided with either water or food at Dubai airports and Sharjah. But tour operators do not have access to the sterile zone; air carriers must provide tourists with everything they need,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
The association will demand that airlines comply with international aviation rules and respect the rights of passengers, Muradyan emphasized.< br>
According to information from the Situation and Crisis Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cited by the Ministry of Economic Development, there are heavy downpours and gusty winds in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. UAE authorities warn that bad weather, precipitation and a red alert level will last until 18:00 Moscow time on April 17.
Dubai International Airport reported on social networks that there are significant disruptions and flight delays. Flooding and road closures have limited transport options for arriving and departing guests.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development, there are now about two thousand organized tourists from Russia in the UAE, they are provided with housing and food. They emphasized that the Ministry of Economic Development is monitoring the situation with the delay in departure of Russian tourists.
