Feminist activist and journalist Zalina Marshenkulova has been put on the wanted list. This follows from the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, attention to the wanted card was drawn by “Layout”.
The card says that Marshenkulova is “wanted under an article of the Criminal Code.” On April 10, the Investigative Committee announced the initiation of a criminal case against the activist for justifying terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code).
The reason for the prosecution, as Astra, Baza and Shot wrote, were Marchenkulova’s posts about the undermining of Z- blogger Vladlen Tatarsky, published in the telegram channel of the journalist “Women’s Power”. The activist posted publications about the death of Tatarsky on April 3, 2023 — in them, among other things, she wrote that she did not consider it right to sympathize with the death of the Z-blogger, since he supported the killing of Ukrainians as a result of the war.
At the same time, the press release of the Investigative Committee said that the case was opened because of posts dated March 3, 2023. The bombing of Vladlen Tatarsky took place in a St. Petersburg cafe on April 2 of the same year.
On April 11, it became known that investigators had conducted a search in Marshenkulova’s case. It is unknown at what exact address the investigative actions took place, but later the Perovsky District Court of Moscow registered a petition from the investigation asking that the search be declared legal. The petition stated that the search in the journalist’s case was “urgent.”
