According to Matthew Weaver, vice president of Nissan's European design department, restyling has transformed the Japanese brand's crossover “from Clark Kent to Superman.”
Nissan has been producing the Qashqai since 2006; over the past years, the model has managed to change generations twice. The current third generation crossover was presented in 2021. One of the main markets for the model is Europe. Judging by statistics from JATO Dynamics, in 2023, dealers sold 144,648 units on the old-world market, which is 25% more than a year earlier. For comparison, the result of Volkswagen Tiguan last year was 141,140 units. (22% more), and Opel Mokka – 104,676 units. (an increase of 8%).

Despite the solid increase in sales and generally good results, they decided to update the model, since the time had come for a planned restyling. The first official footage was published early last week, and now the Japanese manufacturer has completely declassified the new product. The refreshed Nissan Qashqai received noticeable changes in appearance, which partly made it visually similar to the all-electric Ariya SUV.
During the restyling, the Qashqai received a new hexagonal radiator grille, and, as the company explained, its design, created from glossy volumetric diamonds, was inspired by the patterns of ancient Japanese armor. The model also has a different two-story optics, where the daytime running lights are made in the form of LED “commas” located in the main headlight blocks. The upper elements of the DRLs also serve as direction indicators.
Between the headlights you can see a wide bridge into which the brand logo is integrated. The lower part of the front bumper with a trapezoidal air intake is separated by another, narrower curved line made of glossy black plastic. The sides have remained virtually unchanged: the crossover has been left with slightly widened wheel arches, traditional exterior mirrors on separate legs and regular door handles. The list of changes includes only original wheels: the basic version has 18-inch wheels, more expensive versions have 19- and 20-inch wheels available.
The stern has changed less noticeably. The models retained the same spoiler on the top of the tailgate, the shark fin antenna on the roof, as well as the headlights of the same shape, but with a different pattern — the lower part received large diamond-shaped luminous elements that echo the new radiator grille. The lower part of the rear bumper has been changed due to a different shape and new design of reflectors. The Qashqai palette has been expanded with three new colors – Pearl White, Pearl Black and Deep Ocean.
The refreshed Nissan Qashqai also has a new N-Design version. These cars are visually distinguished by body-colored wheel arches and the lower part of the body under the doors, in addition, they received unique 20-inch alloy wheels.

In the interior of the restyled crossover, you can see a differently designed front panel and center console, other finishing materials (Alcantara for top versions), as well as changed lighting. The model was also equipped with a new infotainment system, which is based on the Android operating system from Google (the same architecture is used in Renault, Volvo and Polestar cars).

Technique at the updated Nissan Qashqai in Europe only hybrid, it was left unchanged. Basic versions are equipped with mild hybrid units, which are based on a 1.3-liter petrol turbo-four with output of 140 or 158 hp, a 12-volt starter-generator and a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.8 kWh. More expensive options are equipped with a proprietary e-Power system based on a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine with a power of 157 hp: it acts as a generator, while the front wheels are driven by a 190-horsepower electric motor.
Old-world dealers will begin accepting orders for the new product this coming summer. Prices for the restyled Nissan Qashqai will be announced later.
