The G7 countries want to keep the assets of the Russian Federation frozen until the damage to Ukraine is compensated
The G7 countries plan to keep Russian sovereign assets frozen until they obtain payments from Russian representatives for damages in the Ukrainian conflict.
< p>“We want to get the Russian Federation to pay for the damage that was caused to Ukraine. Until then, Russia’s sovereign assets in our jurisdictions will remain frozen,” says the release following the meeting of the IMF and World Bank conference.
Among other things, the G7 countries view the EU’s proposals regarding revenues positively from Russia's frozen assets “in favor of Ukraine.”
