MOSCOW, April 17 Representatives of the Russian non-ferrous metallurgy are in close contact with the Russian government, options for action are being discussed taking into account the situation after the imposition of sanctions by the United States and Great Britain, reported Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov to journalists.
On April 13, the American Treasury announced that the US authorities are introducing a ban on the import of aluminum, copper and nickel of Russian origin into the country, which will lead to limiting the use of metals from Russia on world exchanges. According to a statement by the British government, Great Britain has also joined the restrictive US sanctions.
«Industry representatives are in close contact with the government. Of course, this is a systemically important industry. And, of course, the government is now discussing different options for action taking into account this situation,» Peskov said, answering the question of whether the possibility of state support for non-ferrous metallurgy against the backdrop of British and US sanctions.
