The French brand Citroen, part of the Stellantis corporation, has declassified the design of the second-generation C3 Aircross subcompact crossover for the European market, it is noticeably different from the design of models of the same name for developing countries.
The second-generation Citroen C3 Aircross is another offspring of the budget modular Smart Car platform, originally developed for emerging markets; the first-born of this platform is the new cross-hatchback Citroen C3, which has been produced since 2022 in India and Brazil. In terms of appearance, the new European Citroen C3 Aircross is largely unified with the related European cross-hatchback Citroen C3, both models were registered at the Stellantis plant in the Slovak city of Trnava, and another relative on the Smart Car platform will be assembled here — the Opel Frontera crossover presented last week . The official press release from the Citroen brand says that the new C3 Aircross will be offered in petrol, hybrid and fully electric versions, but there are no details about them yet. L'argus adds that the hybrid version based on the 1.2-liter petrol turbocharged PureTech will produce 136 hp, electric versions will be offered with an electric motor with a power of 136 and 156 hp, the range on one charge for electric versions will be 300-400 km on the WLTP cycle, depending on the modification. All versions have front-wheel drive.
