The head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov commented on the situation with the harsh detention by police at the Gerzel checkpoint of the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya, general Alikhana Tsakaeva. Responding to the call of the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, to take action against those involved in the “shameful provocation,” the official called on the participants in the process to leave the case to law enforcement officers.
According to Melikov, the incident with the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya occurred at a federal checkpoint, which is not located in conduct of Dagestan law enforcement services. At the same time, the head of the region noted that “he cannot allow this situation to somehow cast a shadow on the uniform of our employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.”
“I hope that my colleague Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov did not have them in mind, when he spoke about some kind of “shameful provocation,” because the Dagestan police officers rightfully deserved the proud title of guardians of order,” he added.
The politician expressed confidence that the incident would be given an objective assessment and the situation would not affect the relations between the republics .
Earlier today, Kadyrov commented on the detention of Tsakaev by police in Dagestan in his Telegram channel. He called the incident a “shameful provocation.” And he stated that “a number of persons,” whose identities have already been established, tried to detain the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya in the most rude form.
