This was reported by The Insider.
On August 31, 2023, a man called Mironov’s apartment in Buenos Aires on the intercom and said in English: “Professor Maxim Mironov. I have a message for you. Stay away from Russia and Russian politics!”
The next morning, an unknown man, about 185 cm tall and wearing glasses, attacked Mironov’s wife Alexandra Petrachkova, who was returning home with a small child. “It seems like the same guy (who called the intercom — MZ) hit my wife in the face right in front of the house. And again he said, “Stay away from Russia.” She screamed,” Mironov wrote then.
Argentine police found CCTV footage of the attack. The Insider identified him as 38-year-old Grzegorz Daszkowski from the Polish city of Bydgoszcz. According to air travel records obtained by investigators, he flew to Argentina from Paris on August 30 and flew back on September 5.
38-year-old Dashkovsky works part-time organizing sports competitions and corporate events. In the first days of a full-scale war in February 2022, he announced a collection of things to help Ukrainians and published a photo of ESKA radio journalists asking him for a comment about it.
The authors of The Insider passed on data about Dashkovsky to the Polish authorities, he was arrested in an assault case. “While studying Dashkovsky’s connections, Polish investigators came across interesting information: Dashkovsky’s handler (a citizen of Belarus, also arrested) was connected with two other Polish bandits who arrived in Lithuania just at the time when Leonid Volkov <…> was attacked,” writes The Insider.
According to the publication, other people who were engaged in surveillance of the oppositionist also took part in the attack on Volkov, and the detainees were only the perpetrators of the assassination attempt. The Insider believes that these were Russian special services.
The detention of two accused of attacking Leonid Volkov became known today. This happened in Warsaw on April 3. A citizen of Belarus was also detained, who, according to Polish and Lithuanian investigators, “worked for the Russians” and “ordered the murder” of Volkov to two Poles from the “circle of ultras football fans.”
