PERM, April 18 Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Perm Territory Alexey Demkin left his post after his son’s scandalous statement about Perm on social networks.
Earlier on social networks, the son of Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Demkin published a video from the island of Bali, in which he first showed the beauty of the local nature, and then addressed subscribers: “Why the hell do I need Perm?”

«»We confirm the information (about Demkin's dismissal from the civil service – ed.),” said the press service of the regional government. The interlocutor did not provide additional explanations.
Alexei Demkin was the head of Perm for a little over 2 years; in June 2023, he resigned early and went to work for the regional government. He took the post of Deputy Prime Minister with supervision of the work of two regional ministries — territorial development and affairs of the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug.
Demkin was born in Perm in 1973, in 1990 he graduated from Perm Polytechnic with a degree in Aircraft Engines and Power Plants. Until 2021, he worked in senior positions in the construction company «PZSP», was elected as a deputy of the Perm City Duma of the IV, V and VI convocations.
