MOSCOW, April 26 The Basmanny Court of Moscow received an appeal against the arrest of Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov in a bribery case, the court reported.
“»The court received an appeal against the decision to select Ivanov as a preventive measure in the form of detention,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
Ivanov, who was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense in 2016 and oversaw the work of the military construction complex, was detained on the evening of April 23. The investigation believes that Ivanov entered into a criminal conspiracy with third parties to receive a bribe on an especially large scale in the form of providing property services during contracting and subcontracting work for the needs of the ministry. The court sent Ivanov into custody for two months, he does not admit guilt.
