The Basmanny District Court of Moscow arrested 51-year-old Anton Filatov — he was the head of several companies subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, writes Kommersant.
The case file on the court’s website states that the petition for Filatov’s arrest was received by the court yesterday. He is accused of particularly large embezzlement (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code).
As Kommersant notes, it is not known what amount we are talking about and what period of time. At the same time, the newspaper notes, until 2019 Filatov worked at the Oboronlogistics company, which was supervised by the arrested Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov.
This company, continues Kommersant, was the only contractor for the procurement of works and services for the Ministry of Defense related to the delivery of troops and cargo to the Arctic zone of Russia and the Far East. At the same time, Oboronlogistics assured the newspaper that they had not taken any investigative actions.
Timur Ivanov was arrested on April 24, he is accused of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code). According to the Investigative Committee, the deputy minister “conspired with third parties” to receive bribes “in the form of providing services of a property nature during contract and subcontract work for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.”
Soon the court arrested him under the same article Sergei Borodin, who was Timur Ivanov’s business manager. The next day, Alexander Fomin was placed in a pre-trial detention center. According to the investigation, he, “being in a trusting relationship with Ivanov,” did not take money from him for construction materials and building repairs.
