Premier Albanese's government continues its unwavering support for Ukraine by announcing a new $100 million aid package. Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles announced the package during a visit to Ukraine today, where he met the Prime Minister Ukraine Denis Shmygal,” says a statement on the website of the Australian Ministry of Defense.
The new package is said to include $50 million in military support, $30 million for unmanned aircraft systems and $15 million for other high-priority equipment such as «combat helmets, rigid-hull inflatable boats, boots, fire protection masks and generators.»

Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine interfere with the settlement, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict and are “playing with fire.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine up with weapons from the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
