WASHINGTON, May 1. The American Department of Justice claims that 36- summer resident of New York Nikolai Grigoriev allegedly pleaded guilty to organizing a scheme to illegally transfer American military technology to Russian companies associated with the production of drones.
«A New York man pleaded guilty to conspiracy to illegally export dual-use electronics used in Russian military drones,» the department said in a statement.
As noted, Grigoriev is allegedly involved in a scheme to transfer American technologies to Russian companies for more than 250 thousand dollars.
«As a result of today's guilty plea, Grigoriev faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison,» the US Department of Justice added.
The department noted that a sentencing date has not yet been set.
After the start of the special operation, Western countries increased sanctions pressure on Moscow. As Vladimir Putin noted, the restrictions dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. Nevertheless, Russia is coping with their consequences, and in the West itself there have been more than once opinions that these restrictions are ineffective.
