MOSCOW, May 1. In Russia, 68 natural fires were extinguished over an area of 21,534 hectares in one day, Avialesookhrana reports on its Telegram channel.
«According to regional forestry dispatch services, over the past 24 hours, April 30, 2024, in 18 regions of Russia, forest fire services and involved persons extinguished 68 forest fires on an area covered by fire of 21,534 hectares,» the report says.
By midnight on May 1, there were 42 forest fires in Russia covering an area of 29,712 hectares that were being actively extinguished.
The largest area of fires was recorded in the Khabarovsk Territory. In addition, a state of emergency has been introduced in the Birobidzhan and Smidovichi municipal districts of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
