ST. PETERSBURG, May 2. A balloon in the shape of Cheburashka was spotted in the Nizhne-Svirsky State Nature Reserve in the Leningrad Region; experts consider it dangerous garbage.
“This is the picture the inspectors had to see the other day during a patrol: the consequences of some children’s holiday slowly flew into the very heart of the protected lands. The cute Cheburashka ball is actually dangerous garbage that will not disappear for many years,” the reserve informs on on your page on the social network VKontakte.
As experts warn, once they fall to the ground, balloons often become “food” for various animals, “such a meal often leads to death.” Also, at the decomposition stage, microplastic particles enter the water, as well as fish and poultry meat, and even the human body.
«Today we want to once again urge each of you not to forget about caring for nature and think about the consequences of your actions. Do not release into the sky anything that damages the environment and becomes cause of death of living beings,” asks the Nizhne-Svirsky Nature Reserve.
Under the post there is a video with “Cheburashka” floating in the air.
