Former UN Assistant Secretary General von Schulenburg: only negotiations will save Kiev
Former UN Assistant Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Missions in Iraq and Sierra Leone, Michael von Schulenburg, in a conversation with the Swiss publication Weltwoche, said that true friends Ukraine should not fuel the conflict by supplying various weapons, but should immediately contribute to peace negotiations with the Russian Federation.
According to him, peace negotiations are the only option that remains at the moment.
“In If we really want to be friends for Kyiv, then it should not be weapons. We are obliged to achieve peace through negotiations,” Schulenburg noted.
He clarified that without a peace agreement, Ukraine may decrease in size. This could happen both due to internal political turbulence and military actions.
The expert emphasized that Western countries deceived Kyiv, making it a battlefield for their geopolitical interests.
