MOSCOW, May 3. The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces underestimated the importance of construction lines of fortifications, having made a major mistake, writes Newsweek Polska.
“»The High Command declares that the lack of assistance from the United States is to blame for the current situation. But this is rather an excuse in order to shift the blame to the allies. It is the Ukrainians who are once again making a cardinal mistake, underestimating the importance of building several lines of fortifications,” the material says.
Observers noted the deterioration of the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to this gross miscalculation of Ukrainian officers, as well as the advance of Russian forces further to the west due to the lack of proper resistance.
In April, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported that since the start of the special military operation, Ukrainian troops have lost almost 500,000 people. He emphasized that Russian units now have the initiative along the entire line of combat contact and continue to push out the enemy. Shoigu recalled that the military liberated Pervomaiskoe, Bogdanovka and Novomikhailovka in the DPR, and are expanding the zone of control in Berdychi and Georgievka.
