KRASNODAR, May 5. Investigators opened a criminal case after an 11-year-old girl died as a result of a fire in a private house in Anapa, where a large family lived and her 17-year-old brother was injured, reported the SUSKR in the Krasnodar Territory.
“»A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence) in connection with a fire in a private house, which resulted in the death of a young girl,» the report says.
According to the investigation, a fire occurred on Saturday afternoon in a private house on Tsentralnaya Street in the village of Varvarovka in the city of Anapa, in which a large family lived. An 11-year-old girl died as a result of the fire. The rest of the children were rescued. However, the 17-year-old brother of the deceased required hospitalization due to carbon monoxide poisoning; the young man’s life is not in danger.
Investigators are establishing the exact cause and source of the fire.
