In some countries, such an SUV is positioned as a restyled model, and in some places it has complemented the range. The compact five-door debuted with a hybrid setup.
The Great Wall concern began exporting the compact Haval SUV, which is known in its native China as the Chitu. But the export version was given a name well known to Russians — Jolion. This decision seems partly logical, because these are related models: both are built on the Lemon platform, and they are not much different in size. Note that the “original” Haval Jolion has also been present in export markets for a long time. The renamed Chitu will appear in some places as a restyled Jolyon, and in some countries it will turn out to be another version of the model.

The first export market for the “other” Haval Jolion was New Zealand; later such an SUV will reach Australia, South Africa and Latin America. In some countries, the model will also have a Pro prefix. By the way, the New Zealand crossover also has a similar nameplate, but formally it is a “regular” Jolion.

If we compare it with the current Russian Haval Jolion (our crossover was updated at the beginning of this year), then the “different” SUV differs in the design of the front and rear. In particular, this Jolyon has its own radiator grille, bumpers, headlights and taillights. Length – 4470 mm, width – 1898 mm, height – 1625 mm. Crossover dimensions for the Russian Federation: 4472/1874/1581 mm. But the wheelbase is the same — 2700 mm.

Inside, another Haval Jolion generally replicates our SUV, not counting, of course, the location of the steering wheel. The list of equipment for the New Zealand model states (depending on the configuration): virtual instrumentation, a multimedia system with a tablet rising above the front panel, climate control, a panoramic sunroof, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, lane marking monitoring systems and blind spot monitoring.

Jolion with a different appearance is presented with a hybrid installation, it includes a 1.5 petrol turbo engine and an electric motor, the total output is 190 hp. and 375 Nm. A “traditional” crossover is also available on the New Zealand market – and this is the “true” Haval Jolion, updated in the likeness of our model: it is equipped with a 1.5 petrol turbo-four with a power of 143 hp. (210 Nm). In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive, whereas in Russia the model can be all-wheel drive.
