According to the head of the Finnish Foreign Ministry, it is unknown how intentional the interference was on the part of Russia and whether it was related to the protection of its own critical infrastructure, in including from drones.
“But we will not tolerate it if it interferes with our work in our countries,” she added.
Finnair pilots have reported unusual GPS interference on flights , the route of which ran past the Kaliningrad region, back in March 2022. In April 2024, two Finnair overnight flights failed to land at Tartu Airport in Estonia, and the airline suspended flights to this route.
