LUGANSK, May 7.A man suspected of murdering a 17-year-old girl was detained in the city of Rovenki, Lugansk People's Republic, said Elena Markovskaya, senior assistant to the head of the Russian Investigative Committee's department for the LPR.
«Law enforcement agencies of the Lugansk People's Republic received a report of the unknown disappearance of a 17-year-old girl who left her place of residence on April 30 (of this year — ed.),» Markovskaya said. 
According to her, investigators and criminologists from the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the LPR and employees of the operational units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the LPR immediately began to establish the circumstances of the incident.
“The route of movement of the missing girl was studied, as well as information about the people with whom she was in contact. As a result, information was obtained that the minor, together with a man, drove a car through several settlements of the republic,” Markovskaya explained. 
< br />She clarified that during operational search activities the identity of the owner of the vehicle and his location were established. “A man born in 1990 was detained. He confessed, saying that when the girl expressed a desire to return home, he stabbed her in the neck with a knife, after which he hid the victim’s body in a forest belt located near the village of Dzerzhinsky,” the agency’s interlocutor said .
It is added that the detainee indicated the location of the body of the deceased.
«He has already been charged, and in the near future the investigation intends to apply for a preventive measure in the form of detention. The investigation of the criminal case is under the control of the head of the Russian Investigative Committee for the LPR,» concluded Markovskaya.
