Dmitry Peskov explained the choice of the first visitor to the president’s office after he took office. As you know, it was Dr. Leonid Roshal. Walking to the place of taking the oath, Putin stopped near Roshal, shook his hand and said, “See you later.” The meeting took place literally a few hours after these words.
As Peskov explained, an agreement on the meeting was reached during a recent telephone conversation, when Putin congratulated Roshal on his birthday. “Yesterday was a good opportunity and a good day for such a meeting,” said the Kremlin speaker.
According to him, the president and the doctor have long-standing friendly relations: Putin really appreciates Roshal’s point of view, especially on medical issues. “But Roshal has many points of view in different directions, and they always exchange thoughts,” the press secretary outlined the essence of the conversation. He added that he could not provide other details, since Putin and Roshal spoke alone.
